A morning walk

*I actually took this picture today, not when I took a walk yesterday* 

The silhouette of trees came visible, they were just dark masses of things that slightly resembled trees in the darkness of night but an hour before. The sun was beginning to rise up from its crib of trees and peek over its bed of mountains.

I looked up into the trees. The sky beyond was still semi dark, but was beginning to lighten by the moment. I look at my laptop screen and decide its time for an adventure. Time for some real live nature. I take up my bug coat and put on my old tennishoes. Old and chewed upon, but still tremendously comfy..

The open air and cold atmosphere is awaiting me, but there are more important matters to deal with. My cat has come to me, chirping and purring! This is not a matter to take lightly, so I pet him and say farewell for a little while.

The Autumn breeze, the chilly fog lifting from the mountains. The crisp golden and yellow leaves clinging to trees. It was a truly beautiful November morning, even though you could barely see color.

The earth feels so good under my shoes, so soft and natural. So different from the cold hard wooden floor.

There’s nothing quite like meandering about the woods ridiculously early in the morning. The sight of leaves falling down as the temperature rises and as the water expands. The first call of a lone bird, yelling out unto the world that it is ready for the new day.

The bright red leaves of blueberry plants. The soft, musty scent of wood and fallen maple leaves mixed with a mysterious sweet odor. The sight of beautiful mushroom logs that have just recently begun to fruit. The cold nip of the chilly morning on your nose, making your cheeks flush and your nose turn bright red.

The sun began to surface more and more, showing what a beautiful, promising morning it was. The sky was a pale gray blue.

I start to slowly pick my way back to the house, fully contented, and think about how I’ll phrase this wonderful story that was my superb walk. I began to think of the Earl Grey tea I would sip whilst listening to music and writing.

I began to think of the rest of the day, and how beautiful it would be.
